The goal is to encourage donations from individuals, companies and organizations!
With the aim of promoting and mobilizing Brazil to be more supportive and generous, the 2022 edition of Giving Day will take place on November 29. This year, Luchesi Advogados embraces the action in favor of the Grão de Areia Cultural Institute (GDA), which promotes the sociocultural inclusion of children and adolescents through music.
The Institute, founded and conceived by lawyer Celso Umberto Luchesi in 2011, was recently recognized as a Cultural Institution by the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo. In more than a decade, the project has already served more than 800 children from the public school system with workshops on guitar, piano, choir, among others. Grão's goal is to provide free cultural activities to young people, valuing children's rights and, through music, achieving social inclusion.
“Luchesi Advogados has supported and encouraged all of GDA’s activities since the beginning and it is a source of pride for us to walk side by side with this place that transforms the lives of many children and adolescents”, highlights the current president of the Institute, Ellen Carolina da Silva.
Giving Day aims to encourage donations from individuals, companies and organizations and plays a fundamental role in showing that everyone can participate, strengthening the habit of donating as part of people's daily lives. Thus, non-profit organizations can carry out actions to receive donations, either virtually or in person. In the 2021 edition, a year that was also marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, Giving Day generated more than R$$ 2.3 million in online donations.

How Giving Day came about
GivingTuesday is part of a worldwide movement called #GivingTuesday (GivingTuesday) and began in the United States in 2012. It is always held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a charitable response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
In Brazil, the first edition was in 2013 and the following year the country officially joined the global movement. Led by ABCR, Giving Day is part of the network of the Movement for a Culture of Giving. This year, it has a partnership with the Mol Institute and today has 85 countries officially participating.
