On June 9th, during a live broadcast, our partner Dr. Ellen Carolina Silva participated in the launch of the booklet “General Law for the Protection of Personal Data for the Agricultural Sector: Importance, Concepts and Recommendations.” This document was organized in conjunction with AsBraAP and Brasscom and also had the partnership of the firm, among other players in the agricultural sector, in the preparation of the publication’s content.
The main objective of the Handbook is to raise awareness, educate and promote initial knowledge of the General Data Protection Law by all agents working in agribusiness, whether producers, cooperatives, resellers, industries, agtechs, among others. The handbook covers topics such as the concept of personal data, data processing, data subject rights, legal bases, data processing agents, inspection and sanctions, with examples and concrete cases from the day-to-day activities of the sector.
The document also presents a survey carried out among the main players in the sector on the application of the LGPD, applied in partnership with Mapa (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply), which guided the preparation of the booklet.
The Primer is worth reading. The document can be downloaded in full clicking here.
